From Root to Premium Wood

The Journey
of Your Tree.

5 steps from the lab to finished premium wood. Every step documented, every tree traceable.

5 Steps

From Test Tube to Premium Wood

Every Paulownia tree goes through a controlled process — from genetic selection in the lab to harvest after 8–12 years.

Lab Breeding

Everything begins in the lab. At the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, our Greenchild-Kiri seedlings are cultivated under scientific standards. Under the direction of Dr. Jeton Shala, every seedling is created through micropropagation — a process that guarantees genetically identical, disease-resistant plants.

Our Greenchild-Kiri hybrid (patent pending) is non-invasive: it only propagates through controlled lab breeding — no wild seeding, no invasive growth.

Planting on the Plantation

Once the seedlings have reached the necessary maturity in the lab, they are brought to one of our plantations in Kosovo, North Macedonia or Croatia. Our local team — experienced farmers and forestry experts — plants every tree according to a precise grid: 625 trees per hectare, with carefully calculated spacing for optimal growth.

Every tree receives a unique identifier and is assigned to its owner. From that moment on, your tree grows at your documented location.

Growth & Care

Paulownia is the fastest-growing utility tree in the world. Up to 5 metres in the first year, up to 20 metres after 12 years. Throughout the entire growth phase, our on-site team takes care of everything: irrigation, pest control, fertilization — all done naturally.

200 bee colonies live on our plantation. Sheep graze between the tree rows and provide natural fertilizer. No use of chemicals — a functioning ecosystem that strengthens itself. Round-the-clock video surveillance ensures security.

Harvest

After 8–12 years, every Paulownia tree has reached full maturity: approx. 18–20 metres in height, 40–44 cm trunk diameter and a wood volume of approx. 1.3–1.6 m³. The harvest is carried out professionally by our on-site team.

What's special about Paulownia: after felling, the tree can regrow from the stump. A second harvest is possible — the cycle starts again, without replanting.

Premium Wood

The harvested Paulownia wood is processed and dried in our own sawmill directly at the plantation — from tree to finished product without middlemen. Paulownia sawn timber achieves a market price of approx. €400/m³.

As the world's lightest premium wood, Paulownia is used worldwide for high-quality products: surfboards, furniture, musical instruments, sports equipment and boatbuilding. The unique combination of low weight and high stability makes it the "aluminium of woods".
